Peddle

Question 1

What types of cars do you typically buy?

Accepted Answer

With our nationwide marketplace, we can buy almost any used or junk cars and trucks from individual owners through direct sales. Our sweet spot is well-loved vehicles over ten years old, but we buy everything from barely-running cars to non-running cars and cars just days away from the junkyard. They can even be cars that won't pass emissions, failed safety inspections, expired registration, missing insurance, or a clunker that's not worth fixing.
We also buy crashed cars that insurance companies call totaled or a total loss that can be salvaged at a scrap yard.
Give us a try, and get fast money to help buy a new car.
Peddle doesn't buy: Leased vehicles Cars with outstanding loans Abandoned vehicles Motorcycles RVs Boats Car parts

Question 2

How does Peddle determine the value of my car?

Accepted Answer

We send the info you provide about your used car into our system for review and calculation. From there, your competitive offer is instantly generated by us, determining its value. Peddle will buy any car in any condition. How much we are willing to pay is based on things like: Regional demand for used cars Market for car parts Price of scrap metal when salvaged or recycled at a junkyard
To get a higher offer upfront, we recommend ensuring your car has: A working battery if your car can start Inflated tires if your car is driveable
Add-on or newer accessories won't usually affect our valuation.
We don't need your email or an account to give an offer. Heck, your car doesn't need a transmission or wheels to get one either. That’s why we're the best place to sell used cars by starting with a free estimate.

Question 3

When will my car be picked up?

Accepted Answer

Free towing is included with all the cars we buy, which typically happens within a few days after accepting the offer. Sometimes, pickup can be on the same day, but it's limited to our towing partner's availability. You can choose the day and time slot for your free pickup through our website and reschedule if things change. If online scheduling isn't available in your area, our team will work with you over the phone to schedule you.

Question 4

What documents do I need to sell my car?

Accepted Answer

We can work around most cars with a mishmash of titles, such as clear titles, salvage titles, junk titles, and sometimes cars with no title.
In some states, we can use alternate documents to prove ownership in place of a missing title or if the title has issues. Car documentation can vary from state to state or buyer to buyer.
In some states, signing or notarizing titles is needed before pickup. That said, owners should NOT fill in the ‘buyer’ name section of their title before pickup. Any errors could make the title invalid and impact the sale. Wait for our pickup partners to guide you through it once they arrive. Check out our state-by-state Title Guide for more information.
Peddle can't make offers on abandoned vehicles, so review your local regulations or reach out to local authorities for abandoned cars.

Question 5

When do I get paid and how?

Accepted Answer

You get paid on the spot.
Our tow truck driver will pay at the time of pickup, usually with a business check. It's safer that way, so they aren’t riding around with bags of cash for cars, and it helps us track payments and ensure the correct amount was paid.
There are no hidden fees or charges for car owners to use Peddle.

Question 6

What happens during the pickup?

Accepted Answer

On pickup day, the driver will call when they're on the way to tow your car free of charge, so no drop-off is needed from you.
When our pickup partner arrives, they'll quickly inspect the vehicle to make sure everything matches the car’s condition information you provided when you got the offer.
They'll see if your car starts and drives, check the mileage, and make sure your paperwork is signed correctly. Then, they'll collect the keys and pay you on the spot so you can cash in on your old car.

Question 7

Can the offer amount change? Can I change my mind?

Accepted Answer

If the description you provided matches the condition of your car during pickup, your offer amount will not change once it’s accepted. There are no bait-and-switch tricks, but we may adjust your offer to align with the actual condition of your car if we find any discrepancies.
For instance, if your car suddenly doesn't start during the inspection, is missing a major component like the catalytic converter, or has higher than the reported mileage, the offer amount could be recalculated on the spot to reflect the actual current market value.
Drivers also check your car's VIN, age, drivability, and missing parts, so be honest about your car's condition, even if the truth is ugly. We buy all types of vehicles, from wrecked and rusted to flawless. There are no car age restrictions, no mileage limits, and no shame in how junky your car is.
As the car owner, you can reject Peddle's offer anytime and cancel the sale before we pick it up.

Question 8

What happens to my car? Do I need to do anything after it's picked up?

Accepted Answer

The cars we buy can end up with car dealers, salvage yards, junk yards, wholesalers, and car recyclers.
We'll email you a receipt with all the sale details and general tips about your state's transfer ownership requirements, like filing a time-sensitive Notification of Sale or Release of Liability and if you need to surrender the license plates.
